Capabilities:

This instrument can image 100 µm x 100 µm area of a surface with a maximum feature height of 5 µm. For maximum image stability in the range of 1 µm x 1 µm to its maximum area. In addition, it has an acoustic and thermally isolating shroud/housing and is operated on an air-pneumatic vibration isolation table. An optional environmental chamber can be added to this SPM. It can handle samples as large as 6" diameter on its 6" stainless steel vacuum platen and can do larger samples depending on shape. No imaging in liquids on this sysytem.

Imaging Modes: Tapping Mode, Contact Mode, Force Spectroscopy, Phase Imaging, Surface Potential, Current Imaging (TUNA), Scanning Spreading Resistance (SSRM), Scanning Spreading Capacitance (SSCM), Magnetic Force Imaging and Nanoindention.

Fees as of February 1st, 2015:  Internal $13/hour; Internal Assisted $43/hour; External Assisted $93/hour

*AFM probes are billed separately at cost.
