2026 Microscopy Today Micrograph Competition

Showcase the beauty of science through your best micrographs or short video clips. Microscopy Today’s annual Micrograph Competition is open to all types of microscopy, with cash prizes for top entries. Researchers, microscopists, and imaging enthusiasts worldwide are invited to share their most stunning scientific micrographs and video clips.

Entries must contain scientific content, but winning submissions will also demonstrate exceptional composition and aesthetic appeal. The competition features three exciting categories:
•    Published Micrograph Category
•    Static/still images first published within the calendar year before the contest.
•    Open Micrograph Category
•    Any static/still images acquired by any microscopist.
•    Video Micrograph Category
•    Movie or streaming clips (up to 15 seconds) captured with a microscope or generated from reconstructed microscopy data. Reconstructions may be submitted as animated sequences to highlight 3D characteristics.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 16, 2026.
