Marley building, room 101D

Dr. Ved Prakash is a Core Scientist II with the Optical Imaging Core at the University of Arizona, where he supports researchers in designing and executing advanced microscopy experiments across biological and biomedical applications. He brings over 10 years of optical microscopy experience, with specialization in advanced quantitative bioimaging approaches including single-molecule counting and functional imaging.

Prior to joining the University of Arizona, Dr. Prakash managed a biological microscopy core facility at UT Dallas for four years, where he trained more than 200 researchers, supported diverse imaging workflows, and organized multiple hands-on microscopy and image-analysis workshops to expand campus-wide access to advanced imaging technologies. His technical expertise spans confocal, two-photon, TIRF, FLIM, and super-resolution microscopy, along with experimental design, sample preparation, and quantitative image analysis.

His research background focuses on DNA nanodevices and quantitative intracellular imaging, with publications in leading journals including Nature Nanotechnology and Angewandte Chemie. In his current role, he partners with investigators to enable rigorous, reproducible, and high-impact imaging experiments across disciplines.
